Portofinos is an Italian restaurant with a spectacular Mediterranean style menu.
Portofinos was a birthday meal which Gareth booked as a surprise. Gareth started his meal with Tomato bruschetta garlic bread, while I went for Sizzling garlic prawns with, toasted ciabatta. We shared our starters which is normal for us, especially me as I always love to taste everything on the menu.
For the main course I had Beef fillet served on a bed of spinach potato mash, asparagus with romesco sauce. The beef was delicious. I selected a bottle of Fox River Shiraz, a WA wine, which Gareth (who just doesn’t drink) even had a glass. If you prefer you can bring your own (BYO) wine for a $6 corkage charge.
Gareth had a huge plate of Chilli mussels with garlic, which once he started there was no stopping him finish mopping the remains of the napoli sauce with some Fresh Italian bread.
Deserts was too much temptation to resist and we shared a warm mud cake and ice cream which was just delicious. In fact we may just have to pop along one afternoon for a repeat of the mud cake with a cappuccino.
The whole meal came to $120 so much sweeter on your pocket than the C Restaurant and you get to enjoy eating with the stars and the palm trees and a view over Hillarys harbour with the lights twinkling in the water while subtle melodies are playing quietly in the background.
Our next visit to Portofinos will be for breakfast (if we don’t squeeze the chocolate mud cake in first) which they serve between 8.00am to 11.00am each Saturday & Sunday
