The cost of the weekly shopping has increased. Where we used to spend around $150 per week on the weekly grocery shopping we are now spending closer to $200 a week.
I will start with general living costs and will use our expenses as a guideline. We don't have any children so I guess our expenses will increase when little ones come along. Having said that we could cut back in areas such as broadband and foxtel if ever there was a need.

GROCERIES
I must admit I was surprised how much more we pay for some grocery shopping here in Perth. I guess the cost is higher because the opoulation is much smaller and the competition less.
You could always buy bread, milk and all the basic shopping in the UK without a huge cost. I assume that is still the same?
Supermarkets wanted to get you through the door and then they would make the money on the shopping you buy that was not on the list.
It is difficult to compare the cost of living beteen one country and the next as it is not just the cost of things but also wages you need to think about.
I think the cost of living here is much higher than when we first arrived in 2003. Our weekly shop is at least $50 a week more and I am still buying the same.
